Class Descriptions

Creative Movement
This class is for pre-school age children (must be at least 3 yrs old). The class involves activities that teach balance, coordination, stretching, and movement to music; along with an introduction to basic ballet and tumbling skills. (45 min.)

Ballet Technique
Teaches fundamental techniques upon which other dance forms are based; including classical ballet technique, basic exercises and center floor combinations. (45 min.)

Combination Class I
Teaches basic ballet and tap principles, including center floor combination. Students must be 5 years old or have completed the Creative Movement class (1 hour)

Combination Class II
Teaches basic ballet and tap principles, including center floor combinations and exercises. Also includes an introduction to jazz fundamentals
(1 hour)

Basic Tap
Teaches the principles of tap technique, including basic rhythms, steps and center floor combinations. (45 min.)

Jazz/Hip-Hop Class
Traditional jazz warm-up and technique blended with the music and moves that are popular today. (1 hour)

Tumbling
Teaches the stretching and strengthening exercises needed to learn the basic skills of tumbling, including: rolls, cartwheels, hand springs, jumps, etc. (45min.)

Poms/Cheer
A class with a jazz emphasis that focuses on sharp moves, strength skills, jumps, and tumbling while using poms or other props (45min.)
*Note: There will be an additional cost for pom-poms for these classes.

Technique Class
A class for the serious ballet dancer that teaches the fundamental techniques upon which all other forms of dance are based. This class is geared towards developing a more extensive terminology and knowledge of the art of ballet and Jazz; including: barre work, basic exercises, jumps, leaps, turns and center floor combination. (1 1/2 hours) **This class is a requirement for Performance Team members**
